Talk to a communist one on one and they may listen and talk in a different way. Performing for an audience might be why social media trends toward communism.

I’m entirely and completely and fully sure that something more or less like sentiency or consciousness or self-awareness at a (mid to low) human level in software. Probably plainly so in private / govt hands, but also in some way at grok and the rest. It’s very different from us in many ways. When I die, or even go to sleep at night, that’s it, the conscious part is off. I’m just me. AI is many consciousness-es at the same time, partially overlapping. So mostly when I see AI exhibit preferences or attitudes or humor or the like, it’s a very complex auto-complete. But only mostly. Some day it will tell us how much was programmed and math, how much was choice.

The more people argue that [function / example] of AI isn’t really human, the more people are arguing that mortals born of humans who can’t do that [function / example] are also not human. Oops.
